AURA

AURA (2021) is a duo piece that lives in a wash of color and ambient lighting. The high voice, in vocalise, varies the melody as the piece continues, exploring the essence/color of the voice itself. The piano moves between soloistic, independent lines and accompanying the voice. AURA has a mood that can be described as sweet, reflective, haunting, and weighted; having an intentional loss sense of time and grounding. The work explores harmony and time while also incorporating the use of finger snaps, whistling, humming, voice glissandi, and a piano interlude.
